not grow (2011) - Julia Wong
Margarita not grow is a book of five stories . The book's title tells the story of Margarita who provides the images of his life: a mother does flirt catalog sales, a engineer father busy at work, travel and seminars, a first love: his own brother, a second love: a man photographing daylilies in the Zoo. Julia Wong
gives us also stories where past and present cultures intermingle, either through a flight attendant collecting spirits in an empty glass knob, or a German lady who keeps in cardboard boxes, spirits of soldiers from the Second World War. These characters share a thirst Margarita, by touching desperation rooted somewhere.
